Student Teaching

District 308 cooperates with various colleges and universities with approved teacher-training programs to place student teachers in district schools. Student teachers in the district qualifications are acceptable to the district and the students' respective colleges or universities are assigned to supervising teachers. Students interested in a student teaching placement with District 308 should contact their colleges or universities.

Student Observations

College students enrolled in an approved teacher-training program may request observation hours by providing the district with a letter of approval from their colleges or universities and completing a Student Observation Request form. Placements are dependent upon teacher availability and principal approval. Please e-mail the district’s personnel secretary at vrdaleo@oswego308.org to obtain a Student Observation Request form.


Substitute Teachers

A qualified applicant must upload a current Illinois teaching certificate and resume as part of the online application process. Daily rate of pay is $95 per full day worked. No benefits are offered with this position.


Volunteers

Individuals who are interested in volunteering for the district must contact the building principal directly for information. 

The building principal will determine the placement and need of volunteers for his/her respective building.  In addition, a background check is completed on all volunteers before they are allowed to assist in the school.
