Mission Statement
The Mission of Oswego Community Unit Schools, a unique partnership of students, staff, families and community, is to ensure each student develops the capacity to thrive as a successful contributing citizen by providing exemplary educational experiences in a safe, caring and responsive learning environment.

Guiding Principles

  • School Improvement Plans will always be consistent with the Strategic Plan of the District.
  • No new program or service will be accepted unless it is consistent with the strategic Plan, benefits clearly justify costs, and provisions are made for staff development and program evaluation.
  • No program or service will be retained unless it continues to make an optimal contribution to the mission and the benefits continue to justify the costs.
  • Budgeted expenditures will not exceed budgeted revenues for normal operating expenses.
  • Behavior which demeans the dignity or self-worth of any individual or group will not be tolerated.
